The hardest part of caregiving, handled with care

For many families, helping with a shower, getting dressed, or the bathroom is the most tiring and most private part of caring for a parent or spouse. During a respite stay, that help is provided with patience and respect for your loved one’s modesty and independence.

Before the stay, tell us how these routines go at home: what they can manage alone, where they need a hand, and what makes them uncomfortable. The goal is for the routine to feel like theirs, just in a different place.

Help with daily routines

Only the help your loved one needs, in the way they prefer.

Bathing

Help with showers or washing up, at a pace and in a way that feels comfortable and private.

Dressing

A hand with clothes, buttons, and shoes, while they do as much as they like on their own.

Grooming

Hair, teeth, shaving, and the small things that help a person feel like themselves.

Toileting

Discreet help when needed. Share the usual routine and level of help before the stay.

Everyday care, not medical care. A respite stay covers everyday personal support. It is not nursing or medical care. Health questions, new symptoms, and medication changes go to your loved one’s doctor.

Getting started

Cost depends on the length of the stay and the help needed. Call for a free estimate.

  1. Tell us the routine

What your loved one does alone and where they need help.

  2. Share what matters to them

Privacy, timing, and anything that makes them uneasy.

  3. Arrive and settle in

The routine is reviewed together on the first day.

  4. Keep us posted
